John was born in the small rural village of Castleconnell in County Limerick, Ireland.
He learned to entertain at a very young age. His first love was traditional Ceili (Celtic) music and ballad singing, and he continues to focus on this aspect of Irish entertainment.

John joined a boys club at the age of ten and learned to play his first musical instrument, a flageolet (Penny Whistle). Shortly afterward, he began entertaining with a local marching band. Soon after, he learned how to play the Chromatic (button) accordion and would sit in with a local Ceili band when they played in the area

                   .

This very talented musician and singer started playing professionally at the age of 15. He has shared stages throughout Ireland, England, Canada, and the USA with many well-known artists, and has appeared on national television in Ireland, Canada, and the United States. He has also played on the Ralph Emery Television Show, TNN in Nashville, TN.

John has performed in concert halls and festivals from New York to California and he is happy and content at what he does best: Entertain!

He is credited with three CD’s, "MAGGIE", “STILL AT IT” “CELTIC, COUNTRY, CLASSIC” and two cassettes where he performs some of the great and frequently requested songs such as Danny Boy, Killybegs, Kathleen, Famous Seamus, A Mother's Love's A Blessing, Noreen Bawn, Irish Soldier Laddie Ringsend Rose The Bold O’ Donahue and many more .
